The Website Development Process

Ellacrea Design works closely with clients to develop the right site for individual needs, goals and budgets. Here are the steps in the process:

Getting to Know You
Ellacrea Design will meet with you in person, via phone or via email to get acquainted. In a preliminary way, we'll discuss why you want a website, what resources you might already have in place, and what budget and time frame you have in mind. Basic questions about domain registrations, hosting and design can be answered at this time.

Developing a Plan
Following our meeting, Ellacrea Design will evaluate the purpose of your web site, your customer base, your products and services and your competition. We'll also estimate the resources in time, money and staff that will be required to develop, market and maintain your site.

Contractual Agreement
At this point, we formally agree on a fee structure, payment terms, and a time frame for completing the work. We also set out terms for exactly which content and images will be provided by the client, and which will be developed by Ellacrea Design.

Website Architecture and Design
The first step in the actual design involves researching which search terms and key words will make your particular site most successful. Content is developed based on this research, in order to create a "search engine friendly" site. Next, design features are developed. The graphic interface is created and the template layouts, illustrations, photographs, navigation systems, type styles and other graphic elements are applied.

Implementing the Design, Testing and Launch
As the structure takes shape, links and navigation are checked, and the programming is analyzed and tested on a variety of browsers. At the end of this process, your website is loaded onto the server and final testing is completed.

Marketing & Maintenance
Once the website is loaded onto the server, it is very important that the marketing and promotion of your website kicks into high gear and that arrangements have been made for site maintenance and management.
